DULCE ET DECORUM EST
BY WILFRED OWEN
This poem was written during World War I, But published after Wilfred died.
Dulce et decorum est means ..... It is sweet and honorable to die for your country
In this poem we can apreciate the horroific imagery which describes war, it is about a gas attack during world war 1.
The purpose of this poem was to protest against the mentality that war gives us. At the beggining of the poem they describe a single terrible moment of the war, and then they explained the significance or moral of the incident. The describe the moment of the gas atacked and said they have to wear masks and i think someone didn t had he chance to put it on so he died.
Thanks Arantxa, remember however to follow the hree-part structure specified in class (poet, what the poem is about, poetic techniques used).
